Jahrhundert und korrigiert in Nuancen das von der Forschung gezeichnete Bild in Bezug auf Hans von Bülows Vorreiterrolle. Dabei werden auch die zentralen die Aufführungspraxis betreffenden rezeptionsgeschichtlichen Kategorien quellenbasiert vorgestellt.</dc:description>

  
<dc:description xml:lang="en">This article offers an overview of the performance history of Beethoven’s “Diabelli Variations” in the nineteenth century, a topic which has rarely been the focus of scholarly research. It adds new nuances to the picture drawn by previous scholarship with respect to Hans von Bülow’s pioneering role. In the process, the central categories of reception history are considered in relation to performance practice, based on contemporaneous sources.</dc:description>
