ABSTRACT: This thesis investigates common deficiencies in the fitness aspects of dancers and traditional dance classes, aiming to identify areas for necessary improvement and efficient methods of incorporating fitness knowledge into dance training. Despite the high physical demands of dance, many training regimens lack alignment with the physiological needs of dancers, leading to potential fitness deficits and increased injury risks. Drawing on a variety of studies and expert insights, this research highlights the importance of integrating fitness-related exercises into dance training to enhance physical wellbeing and performance while maintaining artistic expression. The findings suggest that implementing targeted fitness routines can improve performance of dancers, enhancing physical fitness and reduce injury incidence. By exploring fitness-related risk factors and providing proactive measures, this thesis offers a comprehensive approach to optimizing dancer training, ultimately contributing to better health and performance outcomes for dancers.
