ABSTRACT:
The interactive nature of the teaching process in terms of social relationships is
established between the teacher and students in the learning process. As a matter of
fact, consent is the basis for the relationship "because it is based on a commonly
recognized purpose on which all members agree, resulting in few conflicts of interest
as the group interacts" (Cothran & Ennis,1997, p. 542).
Communication is one of the most important means of exchanging information.
Professional education also includes a form of communication corresponding to the given
need and context. The purpose of the thesis is to comprehend the meaning of
touching in relation to communication between two and more bodies, in context of
contemporary dance education. The diploma thesis contains information of basics of
communication in contemporary dance education along with the examination of touch
as a subject of communication. It explores the core concept of Touch(ing) and being
Touch(ed) (Brandstetter et al., 2013) within the context of contact improvisation, with the
aim of deepening and understanding its fundamental aspects.
